About the 3 Featured Posts on the bottom of the home page:  How do I change that so that I can use 3 very specific Pages?  We want that area of the home page to remain static and not show recent posts.  We using the home sidebar for recent posts.

      Thank you!

Unfortunately there’s no option to do that with the Genesis Featured Post widget. Since everything is static, I would just manually create html code for the posts and place them in a text widget.

          Hi Wes,

After spending about an hour on this forum (which could REALLY use a search function), I found this post:

          https://appfinite.com/topic/featured-pages-instead-of-posts-on-home-featured-posts-widget/

          Does that solution NOT work?

The search box is actually located on the main forum page…..bold letters, big box near the top – https://appfinite.com/forums/

I originally saw 3 featured Posts and thought that was what you were referring to. I just re-read it and now see “Pages”.

So Yes you can add pages to the featured post area, and the thread you just linked to should work.

Thank you for your trademarked Quick Response Time, Wes!  🙂   The vast majority of developers take days on end to answer a question, if they answer at all.

I’ll give that solution a try.  Since the person who originally posted that question never came back to say whether or not it worked, I’m going to assume that it must have.  🙂

Regarding search box:  I meant “theme related.”  Many times when I use the search box on the main forum page I get tons of results that don’t relate to the theme I’m using….not to mention all of the non-descriptive subject lines such as “Help!”  or things like:  “this doesn’t look right.”  🙂

Haha yes I try to answer as quickly as I can…..sometimes even from my phone if I’m away from the computer.

Believe it or not, bbpress (this forum) doesn’t come with a search function. So I had to download another plugin to make this happen. Hopefully they can add this function soon. The advanced search option like what you recommended would be awesome. If I ever find a way to do that I’ll definitely add it in.

There will be some major improvements to the site, the forum, tutorials, documentation, etc coming soon. It’s taking a while since it’s just me doing most of the work. I have a little bit of help with the forums and email, but its mostly just me right now.

Anyways, let me know if you get everything working…..if not just send me a link and I’ll tell you exactly what you’ll need to do.
