Home › Community Forums › Ally Theme Support › Does or can Ally be updated?
Was curious, i’ve been running Ally now for quite some time. I like to update stuff every two years or so, but really can’t find anything i like as far as a theme goes. Is Ally ok, as it is. I dont know if they have new coding or whatnot out that would make it better. Does this make sense?
I looked hard at Aspire, and purchased it through studiopress (life member). I am testing it as a replacement, but i’m not sure if google likes all that javascript

Yes this will be updated/redesigned very soon. Although, it does work perfectly fine as it is. So if you don’t want to upgrade, you should be fine. Most Genesis Child themes that are built a certain way can usually last a very long time since the Genesis Framework does all the hard work. The child theme just handles the design and minimal features here and there.
When I do redesign it, it will most likely be a brand new theme. It will still have the same layout, but it will be enhanced and brought up to the latest design standards. It won’t be a requirement that you’ll need to upgrade to it, but it will be something new that you can use if you like it.
I have this theme as well as a few other older themes on the list that I can’t wait to make new again.
I gotcha, it’s a great theme.
I will probably get the newest one you have and go from there. I like the two newest ones, but can’t remember the names.

I might add as well, I noticed they had px and em, then they went to just px, and not they are back at both. Why do they do this, why not one or the other, why both?
