    Hi,

I am trying to use my own Front Page Background Image but am having issues to get it to display without being blurry/pixelated. I have the suspicion that this has to do with the Retina resolution but am not sure…

Here is what I am doing:
I am starting with a 3737px width and 2491px height photo in Photoshop which I am cropping to 1800px width and 1200px height.
In Photoshop at 100% the photo looks very sharp and fine. Once I export it (at high settings) the image size seems to double when I then view it in finder or preview… The same then happens when I upload the photo in WordPress. It looks as if I am using a 900 x 600 pixel image that then has to be scaled up to 1800 x 1200. I have triple checked my uploaded image size, which is 1800 x 1200.

I am starting to lose my mind over this. Was so looking forward to use the theme but with all my photos being blown up to twice the size it is practically useless as it will look very unprofessional. I am sure there is a solution to this as other websites must have the same issue with retina resolutions….

    Hope someone can help!

By the way it seems the the sample image in the demo file is not suffering as much from the blurriness:

Does nobody have an idea? When I look at the other sites that use the Aspire theme they don’t seem to have this issue? I have the feeling that I could solve this problem, if I could upload the BG image with 3600px width and then somehow tell the theme to downscale it back to 1800px width… But how would I do that?
How do you all get your background image to load without being blown up?

Do you have a link so I can take a look at what’s going on?

If you can, make sure the image you’re referring to is uploaded so I can see how it looks, and what needs to be done.
