      I want to change the color in the text section of the excerpt, could you steer me in the right direction on how to make this change? I have changed the H2 section, but need the content of the exerpt changed.

        You can try this – 

        #genesis-responsive-slider p {
    color: #fff;
}

        Then change it to whatever color you want.
