    Hi Wes,

I’m looking for step-by-step instructions on how to set up Ally to resemble the DEMO. I know how to add a slider, but I’m looking for specifics on what slider plugin and how you did the animated look on the different objects coming in at dif times and dif directions — cool!

And how did you set up the rest of the page? If you could list the widgets/customizations that would be great!

    Love your designs. Thanks!

For the slider, open up the folder labeled “Plugins” and you’ll see the slider plugin.  Unzip/Extract it and you’ll see the documentation for it.

For the rest of the homepage, I simply added text widgets and entered sample text.  The 3 middle widgets, and bottom 4 widgets are done using the Genesis Featured Page widget.

The 2 column areas (labeled with numbers) are using the Genesis Column code which can be found here – http://demo.appfinite.com/ally/classes/columns/ and here for the numbers and buttons – http://demo.appfinite.com/ally/buttons-boxes/

Basically just add whatever widgets you want into the widget areas.

    Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply. I unzipped the theme and found the plugin called “Layer-Slider.zip” Installed it just like I would any plugin, it shows the files (3.2MB shows up in the file name). Then I get this msg:

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

    Plugin install failed.

    Thanks,
    Melissa

Yes that happened because you tried to install the entire zip file.  The files you need are inside of the zip.

You woud need to unzip/extract this zip file on your desktop or somewhere on your computer.  Then look through the files and you’ll see the zip file that you need to upload to WordPress as well as the documentation files.

Got it. Didn’t realize there was more unzipping to do. Thanks again!

Yeah this was the only way to provide all of the content and extras that come with it.

    Glad you got it working!
