Hi guys
I installed the importer/exporter widget so that I could import the file to help work on my homepage
demo.appfinite.net-epik-widgets-1-5.wie
It’s changed my homepage to an Epic framework advertisement and I have no idea how to change it back. I can’t find the file in cpanel to delete it.
Any help urgently appreciated

Hi Heidi,
What this plugin does is install the widget content from the demo. If you add any content/widgets to one of the “Home” widget areas, then it automatically activates the Homepage template to display whichever widgets you have activated.
I’ve never had to “undo” the process so I’m not sure what the easiest way to do that is other than using your “Backup” feature…..if you’re Hosting company offers that.
If you don’t have everything backed up, then I would just go to each of those widgets and remove them. If you need an idea how each widget works then I would move them to the inactive widgets section so you can keep them to see what the code looks like.
Did you already have content in those Widgets? If so, are they still there?
Thanks for such a quick response – hugely appreciated. The only widget I have in the widget area is the import/export widget which I’ve deactivated. -it doesn’t appear to have an undo feature!
My hosting company have been trying to rectify it to no avail. I’ve asked them to reinstall the backup but they’re still trying to figure it out.
Sounds like the best thing to do would be to install back up and hope it was last nights back up!
What did your homepage look like before you installed the plugin? Were you using Homepage widgets? Or was the Homepage showing your Blog Posts?
Home page was showing blog posts.
Here’s an idea of the format (except the homepage showed extracts of 5 of the most recent blog posts) https://bodyinmind.org/about-bim/
I see it now. Right after I posted I went to Google Cache to see what it looked like.
All you would need to do is go to each of those widgets and move them to the inactive section (if you want to keep them around to look at). Or you can delete them, it’s up to you. Once you do that everything will be back to normal.
No need to restore your backups or anything. Just empty all of the Homepage widgets and it will deactivate that template from showing. The homepage template is designed to only show if you’re using one of the homepage widgets. If you’re not using any of the Home widgets then it will show your Posts by default.
Let me know if that helps.
Also let me know if you want me to login and do it for you.
I would LOVE you to do it for me as I can’t see where to deactivate the homepage widgets.
which email address shall I give you a login to?
or do I simply go to widgets and move everything to the inactive section?
In other words I can delete the text from the widget areas (the widgets themselves wont move)
Sorry, I didn’t see your last reply. Yes that’s what I meant.
Yep, let’s use the Text Widget as an example.
If you leave the Text widget, but only delete the text inside of it, then the widget area will still show up on the homepage. If you remove the entire Text widget from that widget location then it won’t show up on the homepage.
Nearly there ! I’ve deleted the text widget but I’m getting lines on the hompe page now. There’s nothing else to delete within the widget boxes…
Where are the lines located?
Looks like I was on a strange url: https://bodyinmind.org/#wrap
Home page looks great now I’ve refreshed it.
Thank you so VERY much for your help. One thing I have learned that I actually like the way the demo looks. I’m about to set up a website for a client and may well do this for them (it looks much nicer than the blog look we have).
Once again. THANKS
h
Awesome! Glad everything is working!
I just noticed there’s still some demo content left in the 1st Footer Widget if you haven’t seen it already.
BTW, I’ll be adding a Gutenberg update for this theme pretty soon. I’m in the process of adding updates to all themes.
