Importing demo / wie file

      Hello there,

      I’ve been following the documentation to set up the demo content for the aspire theme (and have read the forum posts on this). I have copied the following info exactly from the instructions:

      “You can download the Aspire Demo widgets file here – https://www.dropbox.com/s/bjf66wdc751llq0/demo.appfinite.net-aspire-widgets.wie?dl=0 Import this file with the plugin.”

      I have downloaded and imported this file a number of times, but it is a txt. file, not a wie. file. So it won’t import into wordpress (I followed the documentation instructions exactly). I even changed the file name just to wie. but that didn’t work either.

      Can you please help? I really want to see how the demo content looks (and I also imported the plugin mentioned before the above instruction – but I’m a bit confused as to the difference/ look of the demo in wordpress). Thank you!

        It should only show up as a wie file. I just used that same file (same link) last night and uploaded to a local demo site with no issues. For me it shows up as a wie file (not a text file). When you download it you don’t need to open it up or anything, just immediately upload it to your site.

        Also, make sure you’re using the Widget Importer plugin that was mentioned in the tutorial. Are you using the Widget Importer plugin or did you use the WordPress Content Importer? Because it only works with the Widget Importer plugin.

        If you want to create a temporary login I can set this up for you asap.

          Thanks so much for your quick response Wes, I appreciate it. I thought I followed the instructions, but I probably did something wrong (I’m still learning!).

          I would love to create a temporary login for you – I just need your email address I believe (if you have another method – let me know, that’s all I could work out).

            You can make up an email test@test.com and it will work. I just need the user/pass. Once you create it, post here and check the box that says Set as private reply so no one else will be able to view it.
