CustomerHi Guys
I own the Epik theme and am really happy with it. ๐
I’d love to deploy BBpress as my forums however when installing the plugin ‘out of the box’ it doesn’t look as I’d like it to.
I love the job Wes has done with the forums here and was wondering if someone might be willing to provide some tips on how to achieve a similar look within my own site.
Are there some additional templates I need to include or edit to help make the bbPress forums play nice with Epik?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Mark

CustomerThis particular forum is actually using a custom design, he’s not using a template. If you are able to look at the stylesheet of this site you’ll see that he added the customizations to the theme’s style.css to override the plugin’s css. So you would have to either do the same thing, or find a template that is minimalist or matches the design you want. The css from this site won’t show up the same as the theme you’re using since everything is completely different, so that’s why you’d have to create custom css to get the desired look you want.
I’d recommend doing a Google search for minimalist bbpress templates. There should be more out there at this point since a lot of people are using it now.

Customer@GDU ~ got the same issue here, and then I discovered that, as of bbPress 2.2, bbPress will auto-detect the CSS file if it exists in the right location.
Directions to use custom CSS file without a plugin
Copy:
wp-content/plugins/bbpress/templates/default/css/bbpress.css
to:
wp-content/themes/[YOUR-THEME]/css/bbpress.css
That’s all it takes.
Oh, and maybe a little editing of the bbpress.css file, of course.
Hope that helps.
Terence.

CustomerI logged into the appfinite site then I had to log in to this forum again. I am planning on putting a forum on my site (using wishlist member)and would rather have one sign in for both. Any Idea if that is possible or one of those universal issues?
p.s. I know this is probably not a generally covered topic but since I’m here and I’m using the new optimal theme, I thought I’d ask.
