Hi Wes,
Is there a way to get the background image (or even a color other than white) to show up in the Guru them on Front Page 5 & 7 when viewing on an iPad in landscape view? In portrait, the background images show up. Turn it to landscape and all you get is a LOT of white space since the font is white and so is the background.
Check out the demo and take a look at the section where you have “Reach your Customers Globally. All you can see in that section is the dotted map image. Same issue with the “Customers Love Our Designs.” Nothing shows up other than the circle photo.

Hi Wes,
I’ve tried searching across all of the forums for background images and background images on iPad…couldn’t find it. Then again, it could be in a post with a vague subject line and private communications. 馃檨
Sorry to hear about your iPad.

Can you do me a favor and test the Guru theme on your iPad to see if the background image shows up? – http://demo.appfinite.net/guru
I still don’t have my own iPad back just yet so if you can test the demo on your tablet that would be great.
If that works, here’s what I changed –
.front-page-1,
.front-page-3,
.front-page-5,
.front-page-7,
.front-page-9,
.front-page-11 {
/*background-attachment: scroll;*/
-webkit-background-size: auto;
-moz-background-size: auto;
background-size: auto;
}
I commented out the background scroll…
If that doesn’t work then I’ll try another solution.
iPads/iPhone browsers have some weird bug that prevents the background image from showing unless it’s coded a particular way…..I can’t remember exactly what it was, but I’ll definitely figure it out.
Hi Wes,
I FINALLY have a chance to get back to the iPad issue. The changes you made to the demo did not resolve the problem. 馃檨

Hi Wes,
Just found this – I’m having the exact same issue with my new Guru site – no Front Page 3, 5, 7 background images show on the iPad in landscape mode. They look fine in portrait mode. Is there a fix?
Best regards,
– Frank
There is a fix, I just have to get access to a working iPad in order to test to see what’s going on. I recently bought and tested on an Android tablet and it works fine, but there’s something with the iPad’s browser that’s causing background images not to show unless they’re coded a certain way.
Thanks for your reply. Do you have a target date for fixing it?
Not sure just yet, it depends when I get access to an iPad that I can test with as the 2 that I have are no longer working.
