      Uploading the ZIP file, I get a message saying that no valid plugin is found. FTP-ing the unzipped folder renders no evidence of a plugin, widget, or anything related to Layer-Slider.

        You have to unzip the slider zip file (on your desktop for example) and look inside.  Then you’ll see the zip file that is needed to install for WordPress.  You’ll also see other files like documentation, images, examples, etc.

          Ok, that worked. It’s the zip inside the zip inside the zip.  I was at the zip inside the zip.

          Ally.ZIP->Plugins/Layer-Slider.Zip->Layer-Slider/layerslider-wordpress-plugin-installable/LayerSlider_WP_2.0.0.ZIP

          that’s the right file. Got it.
