Do you have a link I can take a look at so I can see what’s going on?
Are you using a Slider in this widget area? If so, which one?
If you’re using the Genesis Responsive Slider then it sounds like it could be fixed by using the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ Basically you would install and run this plugin and it would go through all your images and adjust them to the sizes you have set in the plugin. Anytime you change a thumbnail size, run this plugin and it will adjust your thumbnails for you instantly.
I’d probably need to take a closer look to make sure that’s the issue.
