I am trying to create images to go on the Epik theme with the Genesis responsive slider. What are the proper height/width settings?

1140px width and 400px height is what they are using on the demo for the Epik theme. You don’t have to have an image that is 400px height, it can be whatever size you want it to be (just make sure the width is 1140px).

my slider images are 1140 x 350 and they are getting cropped, at little on the left and quite a lot on the right. Any ideas why?

@scottmc59 What’s the link to your site?

Anytime you change or adjust a size in your slider you should use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin. It automatically adjusts your images to fit into the size you have specified in your settings (the best it can).

here’s what I have. dev.howitworksmedia.com I only have the 4 slider images. that’s I created them at 1140 x 400 and uploaded them, using posts with these as featured images.

I also saw a question about full width sliders that is apparently possible and would love to know how to do that.

              thanks.

You might check your slider settings on the Genesis tab, to match your images.

I tried the Genesis slider and did not like it. I would recommend you use the Siloquoy Slider. You can buy the basic for $19 (please support developers) or use the free version: https://wordpress.org/plugins/soliloquy-lite/ if you want to see how it works.

I use it on all my websites. You can make as many sliders as you want on as many pages as you want. You can set the dimensions, the speed, and the look (limited in the free one).

All you add is a short code [siloquoy3452] wherever in the widget or on a page, and it works.
You can also use basic code to make it center, etc.

I use it for the basic slider, and slider wide, and for mini slide shows on numerous pages. Check out this site to see it in operation: http://www.unitedsportsmen.com. It is FAST too.

Sorry about the typo, it’s Soliloquy. All the reviews of sliders say this one is really good. There are others, many others… but this developer also does the Envira gallery which I am also using. Both these work flawlessly and with Wes’s themes, you get a very professional look.
