      Hi everybody 🙂
I recently bought the Epik Theme and I would like to make some changes mainly on CSS Styles and maybe a little bit in function.php and other php pages.

I would like to know what is the best practice.

If I change things inside the Epik theme itself and a new version is released I would lose the changes.

I saw that for Genesis, and maybe in general, it is not good to create a “grandchild theme” (child theme of a child theme).

So I found this article about creating a plugin to add additional styles and files:
      http://docs.appthemes.com/tutorials/creating-grandchild-themes/

Is this maybe a good solution?
      What do you suggests?

      Thanks 😉

Most people either create a custom css file and link to it from the main style.css file, or they add a custom section at the bottom of the style.css file. Either way will work fine.

I haven’t tried the full tutorial on that link, so I’m not sure if that will work or not, but either of those methods should be fine.

          Thanks Eric,
I tried the plugin method and it seems to work fine. With it I was also able to overwrite the header setting in the function.php without touching the original one.
          😉

I’ll have to check that out, thanks for the update.
