The homepage is setup by adding widget content to the home widget areas. It’s designed to only show the widgets that you add content to just in case you dont need or want to have all of the sections showing up. You can start by adding a Text widget to one of the home widget areas and it will show up on your homepage.
If you don’t have anything inside the widget areas then it’s supposed to show your blog page by default.
