I am back with a fix. In front-page.php I have replaced
add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_content_sidebar' );
with add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' );
add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' );

I have turned off the content content section, but there is still the sidebar ? How can I get rid of it ?
