nevermind. my genesis theme was way out of date. updated, problem gone.
I think I got it. THX.
Interesting. I see what you mean.
I can resolve the vertical off-centering of the logo in the image easily enough. It’s the horizontal off-centering that’s the question. If memory serves, I did that myself. I wanted the font size to appear as it does, on the PC, whatever points that is, and scaled my original accordingly; I wanted the black space to the left of the logo to appear as it does (PC), for overall balance purposes; and I wanted the overall image width to correspond to the theme requirements (360w x 164h). I don’t know how else to accomplish what you suggest, without shrinking the font or the “left margin”, unless I extend the image itself to wider than 360. I’ll get my graphics guy involved, but at this point I’m stumped.
Perhaps the problem is that on the PC I care about the left margin, and on the handheld I don’t.
Why is it that the header image is limited to 360 wide, by the way?
Excellent. Thanks.
Thanks. Tried it. On my android, it seems centered but it’s hard to say because the right edge of the logo gets clipped a bit.
Thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn’t reply sooner; I thought I had my profile set for email notifications, but it doesn’t seem to be working that way.
I’m NOT looking to have both the logo and the widget float left. The widget is fine where it is. I’m only looking to manage the logo alignment, so that it floats left on the PC, and floats center on the handheld.
The solution developed in THIS THREAD works to center the logo on handhelds, but it also centers on the PC, which I DON’T want. I guess I’d like to have my cake and eat it too. Isn’t that what being responsive is all about?
I’d still like to get the logo left-aligned on the PC and centered on the handheld. Any suggestions would be greatly apopreciated. THX.
I’m experimenting with the header, the logo sizing/positioning, additional text layouts, etc, trying to find what will work given my skill level. My graphics guy may be jumping in at some point, but I need to learn the landscape first. I’d also like to know how to control the background color of the header as well. Dark Blue was one of the overall configuration color schemes.
I’m experimenting with the same issue. Your fix —
.head-wrap .site-title a {
background-size: contain !important;
background-position: center top !important;
}
/*
— worked to position the logo properly on my android, but it left the image on the computer screen no longer left-aligned. Is there a way to have my cake and eat it too?
