      Alright, potential work around:

Place a # in the custom url field for the root menu item. (href=”#”)

This acts fine on Chrome/Nexus and it works on IOS/Safari, except there the drop down menu won’t go away unless you click a menu item. You can’t click off screen to make it retract.

I’d still love to hear someones take on this.

      Thanks

      Steve

Update: (I keep doing some of my own detective work…)

I have found that the epik demo here: demo.appfinite.net/epik/ displays the problem (and doesn’t!)

On my Nexus 5 in chrome SAMPLE on the root menu does not allow you to get to the sub menu. It shows briefly and then disappears. The LAYOUTS Menu item will display its submenu and leave it hanging their until you tap (working properly)

Both SAMPLE and LAYOUT seem to work well on ipad.

          Update:

On Android I have tested with Chrome and Firefox.
On ipad I have tried with Safari and Chrome.

All have the same issue depending on the device.

            Just a further update:

I have set the site so that the 4th menu item (Rick Vaive – Kitchener-Waterloo) Is a blank entry in the wordpress menu system, so anyone can see how they act differently on the 2 platforms.

Hi guys, I’m sorry I have let this one sit for so long, but I was off on vacation and then new projects piled up.

I am still having this issue with mobile navigation. With a blank menu item – iphones don’t work (no sub menu will appear, nothing happens on click/tap) and if I have a normal page link as the root menu item, android devices don’t work properly.

You can view my epik site here: celebrityhockeyclassics.com

Currently it works on iphones etc, but it doesn’t work on my nexus 5 running chrome or firefox. When you click a menu item, the sub menu rolls down, but you cannot click on it, and then it disappears.

              help.

I’ll post tomorrow when I am back in the office. For now, I have had to put a link back in place for each Menu heading.

I just came a cross this thread while trying to figure out why epik based site doesn’t collapse the main menu like the theme demo does.

Has this been added to the theme yet?

                      Thanks.
