      Hi Wes

      It’s my first time using Genesis and a genesis child theme. I have successfully set many WP themes before -disclaimer: I’m just an advanced user of wp, not a designer/developer- and I decided to go for genesis with your theme after a) reading so many good things about genesis and b) seeing your child theme, which I like very much.

      I have read all your tutorials, and yet I’m completely lost on how to set the site, at least as the demo site.

      I have installed the slider plugin, I have copied and pasted for instance the pricing codes on a html widget at the Home feature 14 widget, for instance, but nothing will show up. I have set “home” as the static frontpage and “blog full width” as the blog page. Well at a loss.

      I don’t know how to add a logo instead of a header text.

      I expected more information on how to set the site just like demo site…but I can’t find it. Is this a child theme for common people or just for designers/developers?

        It sounds like you’re almost there, you just need to setup your homepage differently. Here is a tutorial on how to setup the homepage – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/ …I just recently added this to the tutorials section. That should cover the home and blog page basics.

        No this is a theme for everyone, regardless of experience. I think once you follow the above tutorial you’ll see that it’s very easy to use…..especially if you’re already pretty good with WP as you’ve mentioned. And of course if you have any other questions we can help you out here in the forums 馃檪

        For any other questions just start a new thread (for each one) and I’ll be more than happy to assist.

        BTW I’ll be creating even more tutorials in the near future (possibly this weekend). My goal is to make everything super easy and fast to setup.

          Thanks Wes! It works, I can see it 馃榾

          I thought it was like any other theme, having a homepage and setting it as a static page. With your demo.xml there’s a Home page at pages…so I thought that was the one. It’s kind of confusing. By the way, what are the homev1 homev2…templates about?

          I can’t wait to have your theme ready, I really like how elegant and easy to read is.

            The homev1 homev2 is probably because I created an extra home file for the demo. The XML file was exported from the demo and it probably picked it up….nothing to worry about though. You should be able to edit the links/pages in the menu.

            The tutorial above is new and was just added yesterday.
