Thanks, Wes!
Hi Wes,
I posted on 4/3 asking about how I might add more widgets to InSync home page. Can you help or point me in the right direction? I’ve not rec’d any feedback from others and unable to find a thread via search.
Thanks much,
Thank you Wes. I’ve cleaned this up and it appears to be working well now. I’ve checked on various devices. Again, thank you.
Hi Wes,
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. It’s thread #1572 Ally Theme Support “Creating-Your-Testimonial” October 6, 2012.
Which </div> should I remove?
Thank you,
Caroline
Wait, now it’s working! Thank you, Eric.
I’ve looked over again Erik and I can add two testimonials. After that the rest go all over the place on the page. Not sure what is going on. I’ve double checked the code and its still not working. Wes, if you see this can you weigh in?
Thanks for the feedback Eric,
I’ll double check this eve. I’m using this code which I found in a reply from Wes in Ally Theme support forum under “Testimonial”. The thread is from 2012 so the info may be outdated or need tweaking. Its text wrapped in a div called “quote”. Here is the exact code:
<div class=”quote”>”Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam.”
<p> – Wes Straham</p></div>
<div class=”quote-arrow”></div></div>
That would be great! Thank you, Jason.
Thank you, Eric. I did see this tutorial awhile back along with some others. It does allow for adding a custom image size, but my understanding is the size selected will be the default for the blog, archive, author, tag and category pages.
I was hoping to designate a different size image for the blog listings page than the tag/category archive pages.
Haven’t located a tutorial for this yet. I’ll keep looking. Thank you for your help.
Like this?
/* iPhones (portrait and landscape)
——————————————— */
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
.header-image .site-title a {
background-position: center !important;
float: none;
}
.home-feature-1,
(Looks like it worked) I checked on Iphone and Ipad mini. Thank you, Wes! Much appreciated.
I resized to 360 x 110 and this is a good size. Centering on mobile is the only thing left that needs to be done. I changed min. height to 140 in css to add some padding beneath logo:
}
.header-image .site-title a {
float: left;
min-height: 140px;
width: 100%;
}
well I resized to 350×150 and it looks the same size as when I had it 406×194
OK, it worked as far as resizing Wes. I guess the trick was to change in PHP before adding logo in customizer. I thought I did so previously but maybe not. Now, how can I center the logo on mobile devices that include the hamburger menu. Its ok on ipad since the full navigation menu shows up with no need for the hamburger.
Thank you,
I changed it in functions file as well, previously as indicated in the original post. I will do so again.
Hi Wes,
No, I would like to resize and make larger. I reverted back to the original size because I could not get it to work. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I would like to make the logo larger and have it center on mobile devices. Thank you.
Thanks, Wes.
Hi Wes, Its not showing up as a plug in so I have no way of deleting it. I did install Easy Google fonts plugin recently on this one site and not the other. I’m wondering if it came from this. Its odd because there is no mention of it in Easy Google fonts and there is no way to get rid of it. When I go to the Redux site they offer no information on how to delete it. I found online forums where others also noted that they never installed it and do not have it showing up in their plug ins and don’t know how to get rid of it. Since I know its not something that came with the theme I’ll do my best to get rid of it.
I changed my fonts in css anyway. Right now the plugin is only changing the font/type for Heading 4 font family and size.
Perfect! That did it. Thanks, Wes.
Thank you!
Thank you, Wes. I do make quite a few edits. Appreciate the information.
Edited font weight in CSS Typographical area. Any feedback on eliminating the underline?
Thank you, Wes. I made the changes and it works like a charm! I tested on various devices. I really appreciate this!
Wes,
Thank you in advance for replying to this message.
Thank you, Eric. I added the code you provided. The logo appears as a transparency over Background Image #1 on the Desktop and I PAD (viewed horizontally). On IPHONE and Vertical IPAD the Logo Image is centered over a white background over Background Image #1 photo and cuts off the head of the dog in the background photo. Ultimately the logo does not look good on any of the devices. Too small to read on some devices and too large on others. I opted not to use a logo at all in another Aspire website for this reason. I was hoping for a resolution for this second site. I changed the background header from black to white, but regardless of color it doesn’t work. Any thoughts? I appreciate your feedback.
Hi Eric or Wes,
How would I remove the sticky menu function so that I can see if this addresses the issue? Currently, I am not using a menu and the issue is with the header image.
Thanks for any pointers.
Thanks so much Eric. I use several Appfinite themes so this will be a big help!
Hi Eric,
I’m not sure. Maybe I should first remove the sticky menu function and see if that works. I changed the black header to white because of the colors used in the logo. How would I remove the sticky menu function? Thank you for your help.
Under Downloads? I see the themes I’ve purchased, but no mention of updates under downloads. I downloaded but do not see documentation of version. Would hate to copy over if its the same version. Would there not be another version listed under Downloads as the Updated version?
Thank you,
Thank you, Eric.
OK,this fixed the IPAD issue using instructions from an earlier post last month:
}
.front-page-1,
.front-page-4,
.front-page-5,
.front-page-7,
.front-page-9,
.front-page-12 {
/*background-attachment: fixed;*/
background-position: 50% 0;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
-webkit-background-size: cover;
-moz-background-size: cover;
background-size: cover;
}
Apologies, the site link is http://bit.ly/29y1OwD
I am having issues with Home Widgets 4 and 7 not resizing properly and showing up as black on IPad Mini Horizontal.
I made this change to CSS
}
.front-page-1,
.front-page-4,
.front-page-5,
.front-page-7,
.front-page-9,
.front-page-12 {
background-attachment: scroll; */
-webkit-background-size: cover;
-moz-background-size: cover;
background-size: cover;
Wes,
That did it! It’s fixed. Thank you, as always. I really appreciate your time and efforts and always sticking with us!
Hi Wes,
The Demo works fine on IPad mini, both horizontally and vertically. I used demo content for widget #5 as a reference when setting up the widget so I don’t think the issue is in the widget if that helps isolate the issue.
Hi, Wes:
This addresses the issue when you view the site vertically on IPAD mini. But when you view the site horizontally the background is missing altogether from Widget #5.
BTW I noticed */ was missing after “scroll” in the current css so I added that too.
Thank you!
Hi lhartwig,
I’m having the same issue with Front Page #5 Widget. I see you’ve resolved the issue with #5 but not yet #7. Can you share so insight on how I might correct this?
Thank you,
Evening, Wes:
That’ll be great! Look forward to it. I think I’ve got it covered now (links below) It’s been nice to customize with colors that match logos. Was able to customize tags/categories and other elements separately too. Still fine tuning.
Thank you.
That is what I have Wes (see below) and its not working: See http://hotrodmedia.com There is no photo showing:
.slider {
-webkit-background-size: cover;
-moz-background-size: cover;
background-attachment: fixed;
background-image: url (http://www.hotrodmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/HRM-In-Sync-Home.jpg);
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size: cover;
clear: both;
}
This is where I tried to change out:
.slider {
-webkit-background-size: cover;
-moz-background-size: cover;
background-attachment: fixed;
background-image: url(images/slider-bg.jpg);
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size: cover;
clear: both;
Hi, Wes:
No, I do not have the correct place in CSS to link.
I attempted this a few days ago and it did not work. So please point me to the correct place in CSS.
The place in which I saw the demo photo in Slider CSS shows “slider-bg” I tried replacing with my photo link and it did not work
Let me add, when I first tried to resolve this I tried linking to my photo via CSS and also tried doing so using html in the Slider text widget and neither of those worked. There are no slider settings in my dashboard, so where should I be doing this?
Thank you, Wes. I still don’t know where to add the link. I uploaded the full size photo via the Media uploader from the beginnin – same size as the demo photo. Can you tell me where to enter the link and remove the link to the demo photo? That is the gist of my question. An empty text widget in the Slider position places the demo photo in but the text widget is blank so how do I remove the link? If I add a link to my photo it just sits atop the demo photo. So where do I enter the link for my photo and where do I remove the demo link? I’m not getting something about this.
Thank you.
