Would it be possible to just come up with a fix for the grouping behavior rather than a big update that handles a lot of issues? This would be a great help that would enable me to launch the new site design. Thanks.
@ Wes: any info on when the update will be rolling out? Thanks.
How do I go about removing the ‘read more’ and adding the post info/post meta? I would appreciate any info on how to get started (I am not a developer, but can probably figure it out with a bit of help).
How do I set up this template file? Is there a template file for the current main page that I can copy?
Thanks,
I don’t like to change theme files, in anticipation of the Skope update.
But I was able to do it using the following in the custom functions file
remove_action(‘genesis_after_header’, ‘before_after_wrap’);
add_action(‘genesis_after_header’, ‘before_after_wrap’,1);
OK, I went in and styled the #Nav div and was able to get it to look right.
Although it does seem an inelegant solution, and that the Nav belongs outside of the #head-wrap. 馃檪
Sorry I take that back. It did work but as you said it now displays the background underneath the navigation. How to fix that?
Thanks.
removed the background from #header and added it to #head-wrap.
#head-wrap 聽{background: url(/images/escheresque_ste_@2X.png)!important;}
It doesn’t seem to work
I added these into my custom functions file. Nothing at all seemed to happen.
Wondering if there is anything more specific you could think of?
You can see my dev site here聽http://bit.ly/ZLZaDt, with the background covering the logo.
Wes. Thanks for your input, I was able me get the image uploaded as is without cropping.
However, the custom background image that I am using is covering the logo. Here’s what I am using in my custom css file. I am hoping you can figure out a solution.
** note that I made a mistake and copy/pasted the wrong CSS in my original message above.
#header {聽background: url(/images/backimage.png)!important;
}
Thanks Wes. I am considering Imagery because the main page, with a higher number of displayed posts on screen at any one time, may be a better fit for a site like mine. I am still considering though.
regarding #1 above. Is it possible to do it via a custom functions file? (Custom template files seem strangely complicated/unelegant solution)
When I set up my current theme on freewaregenius.com (the one I plan to abandon for Skope), the creators of said theme merely helped me with some code inserted into custom functions, that made the taxonomy pages the same as the main screen.
Thanks, this is good news. I hope you finish your updates as soon as possible. We will start to implement and customize on our dev site to gain time.
