Its working correctly. When you click an author link it shows all of the author’s posts. Take a look at this example – http://www.studiopress.com/blog if you click the author link you’ll see that it shows all of the posts created by that author.

Take a look here at the StudioPress tutorials – http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-info/#customize ….add that code to your functions.php file and change post_author_posts_link to post_author.
There are many more tutorials and code snippets in the “My Studiopress” link in the StudioPress.com menu. I’m mentioning this because I noticed you had quite a few posts recently (assuming you’re new to Genesis or WordPress) and that should definitely help, as most common questions can be answered by searching the StudioPress resources. It definitely helped me when I was just getting started, so I thought I’d share.

We would need a link to be able to see what the issue is.

Widgets like that usually don’t have a particular font style since they display whatever your default font is in your child theme.

Look for and edit – “#title” in your style.css file.
I create awesome sites for awesome people! Contact me if interested – ericsanchez1585@gmail.com
To prevent this from happening you can look for and edit the following in your css –
.featuredpage img, .featuredpost img, .post-image {
width: 92%;
}
This is what makes the image stretch and adjust to the width of the section/browser…so if you have a small or low quality image it won’t look right if you adjust your browser in the way that you were doing. However, this isn’t really an issue, because most people don’t adjust their browsers when viewing a site so they won’t notice this. If you look at your site on a mobile or tablet device it doesn’t look that bad (from my end at least), it only looks stretched when you resize your browser, which 99% of your visitors won’t be doing when visiting your site.

You may want to double check that you are using the Genesis Featured Posts widget (and not Pages)….and make sure you are placing it inside of the Home Featured Posts widget section. This section is designed for Featured Posts and the css will automatically adjust the posts to float next to each other. If you’ve done this and its not working then you’ll have to post a link so we can take a look.
For the second question you’ll need to create a separate thread since we have a “One Question per thread policy“……it helps us keep the threads organized and on topic, which makes it easy to search for issues/solutions, etc.
Thanks

I spent a while looking around and I can’t figure out what the issue is. I’ve activated the Genesis Slider, enabled the menus, and adjusted a lot of settings and nothing changed.
The issue isn’t the Legacy theme as I have switched to another theme and the issue remained. I have no idea what it could be, but there is definitely something on your site/backend that is conflicting with your setup.
Since the Legacy theme isn’t what’s causing the issues, the only thing I can recommend at this point is to uninstall all of your plugins to see if one of them are causing the problem.

No everything is working fine, they removed the On/Off checkbox on the Genesis Settings page (in the Genesis Framework itself).
If you look here – http://genesischangelog.com/1.9 you’ll see this – “Removed on / off setting for primary and secondary menus in favor of theme nav menu locations to determine visibility.”
So you would turn on the primary or secondary navs through your WP Nav page.

Everything is working fine, you just had your homepage setup wrong, so I fixed it. If you go here – http://littledrawers.bitterrootunlimited.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php you would need to have it set to “You latest posts” since the home.php file will automatically be detected as the home page. This is the template that has the “home” widgets. You had the page set to “Welcome” which is why the widgets weren’t showing up.
You also didn’t set anything up in the Genesis Slider settings, so I added a couple ID’s (and a few other settings) as an example.

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll run it by Wes to see if we need to make some edits to the css.

You probably need to edit – “.header-image #title-area, .header-image #title, .header-image #title a” which is around line 250…..the reason I’m pointing to this is because the height is 100px. Maybe reducing or removing it will help.
Also the #head-wrap (line 189) has a bottom margin of 20px. If you change both of those it will bring the slider right up with the header.

Haha I usually have multiple browsers and tabs running at the same time, since I always test code…..I kept hearing this loud music show up every once in a while and I could not figure out where it was coming from! Just as I got done reading your post I realize it was the video autoplaying from your site! That was hilarious……Now I know what you mean!
To fix it, just go into your Slide editor and look for Global Settings Tab and you should see the option to turn it off.

To remove the bottom margin, look around line 193 for “#header“.
To remove the border, look around line 2450 for – “.ally-dark #header” (since that’s the color you’re using) and change the border to none.

No this doesn’t appear to be an issue with the theme itself as you can see its working fine here – http://demo.appfinite.com/ally/portfolio/ and I can’t replicate the issue on my local install. I would double check any custom code that you’ve created (css, html, etc).

The only way we can suggest what to fix is with an actual link. A screenshot or video won’t work as we would need to see the site itself in order to look at everything.

You should be adding – cat=4 …….If you don’t then it won’t work and will just show the default multiple categories. Take a look at the Portfolio tutorial if you haven’t already – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-create-multiple-portfolios/

bbpress doesn’t come with a Search function so Wes uses a plugin to handle this. For now, to make a search you’ll have to go to the Forum home page……which can be done by simply clicking the “Support” link at the top.

No the font is already setup since it is linked to from the css. It may appear different in certain browsers. This has to do with the way browsers choose to render their fonts. So there’s no known solution since it’s controlled by Google and their servers.

Ok now I see. Its because the div’s are set to “float: left” in your css (if you look around line 1519 in your css you’ll see on – .featuredpage .page, .featuredpost .post). The reason why some seem to pair up like that is because the words are short. If the words are short and they are set to float left then they pair up with each other (since that’s what floating does). If the width of the sidebar was wider then even more words would pair up. The float left causes the code to fit as much as it can on each line. I just wanted to explain what was happening in case you run into a similar issue in the future.
The solution is to remove the “float left” which we can do specifically for featured page/post in the sidebar. Take a look on or around line 1527 in your css and add float: none; to the sidebar like this –
.sidebar .featuredpage .page,
.sidebar .featuredpost .post {
float: none;
margin: 0 0 20px;
padding: 0;
width: auto;
}
Let us know if that fixes it.

No the slider should be responsive by default, there aren’t any custom scripts or anything needed. Make sure you are using the Genesis Responsive Slider and not the regular Genesis Slider (which isn’t responsive).

No I did mean post-meta actually, (but the same fix will work with post-info as well). If you take a look at your blog page you’ll see that there isn’t that much space between certain posts that have a lot of tags at the bottom. On the blog page, look at the end of the post for – “How to Get Found – Search, Social, Local and Mobile | SkiTops” (don’t click it, but take a look at the end of the post) you’ll see the next post titled – “Collision of SEO and Social – Where’s the Creepy Line?” is too close. So adding the overflow: hidden to your post-meta will fix that issue.
Someone else had a similar issue which is why I mentioned it. This will be fixed in a future update.

I’m not sure I understand whats going on exactly. Is the issue happening right now? Because I’m not seeing anything wrong.

Yes I can see that the nav isn’t showing at all on the homepage (the code is also missing), and the same thing with the 3 home bottom widgets.
If you can create a temporary user/password I can login and take a quick look to see what it could possibly be.

Add “overflow: hidden;” to “.post-meta” in your css. This should be around line 1360 in your style.css file.

Yes, the demo is running on Genesis 1.9 and we didn’t need to update or change anything. So far no issues.

I would recommend the Responsive Slider.
I create awesome sites for awesome people! Contact me if interested – ericsanchez1585@gmail.com
I’m sure its something small that we’re missing. Do you have the Slider widget added to your Widget area? Did you add your Page or Post ID’s (whichever one you’re using) in the slider ID field?
I create awesome sites for awesome people! Contact me if interested – ericsanchez1585@gmail.com
First you’ll need to go into your functions file and change the header height size from 100 to 140. The code will look like this –
/** Add support for custom header */
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 960, 'height' => 100 ) );
Then you can upload your image using the WP Header uploader. Make sure it has the same dimensions as the functions file.
You may also need to make adjustments to your css as well. It looks like you already know how to do this, if not just let me know.
