Hi, I apologize, I don’t speak Italian so I’ll have to use a translator to read and reply. It might not be accurate.
Do you have a link to your site? Is it possible to create a temporary login so I can take a quick look?
Which method are you using to display your blog?
There is the first method –
Settings > Reading ….then set the Posts page to the page you created as your Blog.
The second method is to set the page as the blog page from the Template section in the editor. That of course depends on which version you’re using.

Translated from above –
Hi Wes,
How do I allow the featured image to show up on the individual blog posts? In content archives, I have selected “display featured image”. Thank you.

Hi Wes,
What is the ideal featured image size that should be used for the blog posts? And how do I change the background color of the 3 column footer widget? Thank you.

How can we have the featured image show up on individual blog posts? The checkbox option is available on the content archives section, but not individual content.

I figured out how to set up the pages, but they are pretty messy. Is/was there no blog template for this theme?
How can I create a blog page and individual blog page for this theme?
I figured out the blog as well. Thanks
Hi,
I deleted the genesis framework and child theme and started over again.
When I uploaded them again, I was able to see the “Child Theme Setup” menu. What may have happened is that I may have had the old ambition theme installed.
My remaining question is how to set up my blog page because I do not see it in this new theme setup. Thank you.
Hello, I am attempting to set up my blog page however I cannot locate the “blog” page template. I followed the instructions on this page here; https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/
The only page templates I am offered at “default template”, “landing” and “Portfolio”.
I tried using the “default template” as my blog page and then I created a test blog post, however it did not appear on the blog page that I created.
How do I set up the blog page?
I’ve tried following the instructions to create a blog page but none of my posts show up on the page.
My reading settings are set to ‘your latest posts’ and if I change to ‘static page’ then the homepage doesn’t show anymore.
I’m using WordPress 5.7.2 and Genesis 3.3.4
How do I fix this?
Im using Ambition on my site and want to show a featured image on singular blog posts.
The issue Im having is that when I set show featured image on singular content it is showing a cropped version of the picture
eg: https://davidleemartin.com/know-your-enough-and-lengthen-your-stride/
how can I get a post to show the entire 1280×623 image?
Thank you so much Wes!
The blog advice worked beautifully.
But, the search part is a tad above my paygrade.
I’ve gone to the child theme setup but cannot see where I access the file to add the code.
Could you help me with that?
I can set up a temporary login for you.

I have two major issues and cannot seem to get it fixed without adding unnecessary plugins.
1. How do I add a search option in the header menu which comes custom with many other themes?
2. How do I set my blog posts to display a sidebar without having to set it as global feature for the whole site which causes my woocommerce or about pages to also display the sidebar, i.e. how do I make pages full width and blog posts content/sidebar?
Thanks
Hello
How can i edit the bio that appears below each blog post? its currently the default about Wes 🙂 and i cant find where i can edit that, thanks
Hi,
So on the blog page https://zakmustapha.com/blog/ it is showing excerpts of the posts. However instead of showing Read More. It’s simply showing […] in the end and not clickable either.
How can I change them to show a clickable [Read More] instead?
Thank you
Hi,
I searched the forum and saw someone had the same issue but the response was private.
I just updated Aspire to the latest version and I noticed that the Blog page is showing the full post vs. a summary. Settings are still set on summary then I noticed that the Blog page itself does not have a Blog template meaning the theme doesn’t have a blog template.
I’m using the classic editor.
Thanks,
Sabrina
Hi Wes,
Thanks for the compliments, it’s appreciated.
With regards to the problem, my thoughts were the same: hide the frontpage widgets on all other pages but I thought it would need a function to do it.
Your CSS worked. Thanks, it solved the problem.
As a reference, for the blog title I used:
body.paged .site-container .site-inner .journal-title{
margin-top: 80px;
}
That solved the problem.
Thanks again. It’s appreciated.
Hi,
First off, Awesome Job on the design! Looks very good.
(The link you posted didn’t work, so I made a couple guesses until I figured out what it was – http://rockingurteens.com/ )
For the homepage, the code is designed to show the Blog and the Widgets together if that part of the theme is activated. It’s been a few years since I created this feature in the theme and I can’t remember if there is a quick way to do what you’ve mentioned. I’m sure it exists, but it might take a while to come up with the code for something like that.
The only quick option that I can think of is to simply hide those widgets from displaying when the site is being viewed on any of those pages (other than the Home page).
Here is what you can add to your CSS to hide it.
.home.paged .front-page-1,
.home.paged .front-page-2,
.home.paged .front-page-3,
.home.paged .front-page-4,
.home.paged .home-mid,
.home.paged .home-mid-wide {
display: none;
}
I would also experiment with adding something like this if the Blog Title shows up behind the logo/header area –
.front-page .site-container .site-inner {
margin-top: 80px;
}
Sometime in the future, the Aspire Theme will be fully upgraded to use Gutenberg for the Homepage just like my newer themes. This will be much better in every way.
I followed the set up instructions for the Aspire Pro theme exactly and I can even see the widgets showing exactly as stated in the instructions. But then when I go to the homepage I see just the latest blog post instead of that email optin form and all the other stuff that’s supposed to show (as the demo).
If you look at the widgets section you’ll see all the homepage widgets there but not sure why they don’t show as the demo.
The website is ZakMustapha.com and it’s showing the latest blog content instead even thought I selected hide content section.
I want the site to look like the demo.
Any help would be appreciated.
In your admin go to the Customiser page, then click Homepage Settings. Set your Homepage Displays to “Static Page” and then set the Posts page to whichever page your Blog is located on. That should do it.
For this version (since it’s still based on Widgets for the Homepage) it shouldn’t matter what you set the “Homepage” to since it is designed to automatically show the Front page widgets through the front_page.php template. However, this will change in the very near future as this theme will be completely redeveloped to fully use Gutenberg to setup the Homepage Content.
I just did a test on a local install to make sure it’s working with the latest version of WordPress and Genesis and everything looks good.
Let me know if this works.
If not, let me know if you need me to login and take a quick look.
If I go to General > Reading and change the posts page to a static blog page, it removes the front page.
So, is there any other way of doing this?
Thanks
Hi,
I’m using a page called “Blog” to show all of my posts. Using Genesis + Epik (1.4).
Problem is that “Blog” page not showing all the posts.
How can I go about doing that? Appreciate your help.
Thanks!

Hi Wes,
The “Need Motivation” video on the homepage (Front Page 3 Right) is not working in your demo, or on my site.
Link to demo: http://demo.appfinite.net/ambition/
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Also, I’m attempting to setup the blog page. I read here https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/ that there should be a “blog” template. However, I’m not seeing that as an option. I only see default, landing and portfolio as options. Any ideas on this one too?
Thanks,
Brandon
Hi Jack,
Which version of Genesis are you running? If you’re using the latest version (and also the latest version of Aspire) then the Blog page is set up a bit different. Now it’s recommended to create your Blog Page, title it, and then set it as your Posts page on the “Settings > Reading” page.
Once you go to Settings > Reading in your Admin. “Look for “Your homepage displays” then set it to “A static page”, and finally set your “Posts page” to the Blog page you just created.
Let me know if this helps.
I would like to have posts show on a blog page, in excerpts with a read more button or link. Short codes are not working. Is there any lines of code i need to add to make these show on page?
I would like them all to show, not in any specific order just there.
Yay, that was exactly what I needed. Thank you, Wes! Sorry I didn’t realize the Archive options was the right spot.
Another thing… In an older question you’ve helped me remove the “Filed Under” tag link at the end of the excerpts and blog posts. Here’s the link to the support thread: https://appfinite.com/topic/remove-category-tags-at-the-bottom/
The code you provided me there only removes the tags, but not the categories. Could you tell me how to remove the categories, as well?
Thank you! I appreciate your help!

Hi,
Are you using any of the Front Page widgets? If so, take a look at this link – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/ They should automatically show up on the homepage once you activate them.
You can set the “Front page displays” to “Your latest posts“ on the Reading > Settings page in your admin. Then whenever you add content inside a Front Page widget they will show up on the Homepage automatically. This means you won’t need to create a “Page” for your Homepage as the Front Page template will display as your homepage.
If you would like for me to login for you and activate this just let me know. All I would need is a temporary login.

I tested the demo content download link and it seems to be working. Are you referring to the Dropbox link from here? – https://appfinite.com/theme-setup/aspire-theme-setup/#ihp
Hi,
The YouTube block doesn’t work. Here’s how I add it to the blog post:
https://postimg.cc/9rMVfxWD
And it doesn’t show live on my page:
https://postimg.cc/21QHNDPh
How to fix it?
I don’t think I’ve done that before, but I saw this tutorial after doing a quick search – https://wpsites.net/web-design/make-a-gridcolumn-styled-blog-page-in-genesis/
For the blank Blog page, set your Homepage Displays to a Static Page, and then set your Posts page to the page you want your Blog Posts to appear. As you already know, once you add homepage widgets, the front page template will automatically show up as the home page. This is the way it’s going to be from now on due to the new Genesis 3.0/WP.
A lot has changed since the new Genesis 3.0 has been released, so there will be more updates to this theme (and others) to make sure everything is up to date and working perfectly.
Another problem I am facing where the blog page is showing blank at http://demo-z.vpclients.com/templates/blog/
Currently homepage displays as YOUR LATEST POSTS.
Is there any setting which I am missing?

Wes,
What changes I should do to make the blog page in grid layout?
Appreciate your help!
Tilak
Updated to Genesis 3.0 and the FRONT PAGE images disappeared!
The Theme Settings for Front Page image sections no longer seem to work.
Unclear on how the parent theme (Genesis) changed the Child Theme (Appfinite).
However, this is from Github on the changelog:
Removed Theme and SEO Settings page content. Customizer is now the canonical location for configuring these settings.
Removed support for all non-html5 output.
Removed 404.php template.
Removed page.php template.
Removed page_archive.php template.
Removed page_blog.php template.
Removed search.php template.
Removed single.php template.
Removed Adsense Auto Ads integration, with limited backward compatibility.
Removed integration with Google Plus.
Removed all styles from style.css.
Removed all functions deprecated prior to Genesis 2.0.0.
Removed compatibility with old and unknown breadcrumb plugins/functions.
Removed unused $backtotop variable and filter from footer output function.
Deprecated the genesis_nav_right() callback function.
It “removed all styles” from style.css… but should not this be the parent theme only?
Also they removed Theme and SEO Settings page content, so is the issue here?
Hi,
How can I remove the following block from all my posts:
Filed Under: [category]
Tagged With: [tags]
I want to remove it from the posts, as well as from the blog roll.
Thank you.
If you’re referring to the Blog/Sidebar that shows up at the bottom, you can deactivate that by going to Customize > Front Page Content Settings and then you can turn off the setting from there.
Let me know if that helps
Latest From the Blog is showing on the home page even though I have import the Homepage demo but still it is showing.
Do I need to update the front-page.php?
Site at http://adventures.vpclients.com
Please help.
Is there a way I can remove author name and date from blog posts?
Thanks
Looks like I was on a strange url: https://bodyinmind.org/#wrap
Home page looks great now I’ve refreshed it.
Thank you so VERY much for your help. One thing I have learned that I actually like the way the demo looks. I’m about to set up a website for a client and may well do this for them (it looks much nicer than the blog look we have).
Once again. THANKS
h
Home page was showing blog posts.
Here’s an idea of the format (except the homepage showed extracts of 5 of the most recent blog posts) https://bodyinmind.org/about-bim/
What did your homepage look like before you installed the plugin? Were you using Homepage widgets? Or was the Homepage showing your Blog Posts?
I guess “More Post” should be below blog not above. Why this is showing above blog?

Hi Wes,
I’ve updated the hyperlinks in our Epik site at https://www.propelgrowth.com. “hover” and “focus” work, but when using #002E9B, the default state of the hyperlink remains black. Also, how can I change the hyperlink values for only the body copy (not the header, blog archive, footer, etc.)?
Thanks.
Hi,
I modify my main page of blog. Why there are too many space at the left and right of page?
I’d like to see full width of blog. How can i do this?
Please see my blog: http://www.davidepappalardo.it
i will attend
thanks a lot
If you want to add the white background back in here – https://www.gbpersonaltraining.com/blog/ add this to the code I posted above –
.entry {
box-shadow: 0 3px 6px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);
-moz-box-shadow: 0 3px 6px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 3px 6px rgba(0,0,0, .2);
background: #fff;
margin: 0 3px 40px;
padding: 40px 20px 0;
}
This will add a white background just like you have on the other site.
You can remove the box-shadow lines if you don’t need them.
Let me know if that helps, or if you’re referring to something different.
