      Download and Run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and see if that fixes it – https://appfinite.com/topic/smaller-images-on-full-size-blog-page/#post-8774

          You can change it in your Genesis Theme Settings page under Content Archives. If you want to add your own custom size, then look for the image sizes in your functions file and add in the size you want.

            This should be pretty easy with no customization or anything like that needed. You’ll be able to setup the theme to look just like the demo, if that’s what you want.

            I’ve added some tutorials and code snippets at the top of the Epik Forum page located here – https://appfinite.com/forum/epik-theme-support/ The first highlighted sticky posts at the top of the forum show exactly how I setup the demo homepage. So all you would have to do is copy some of the code snippets and add them inside of a text widget and it should automatically appear on your homepage.

            To make things a little easier, I created a widget guide to show where each widget is located – https://appfinite.com/topic/epik-widgets-guide/ This can be found at the top of the Epik forum as well – https://appfinite.com/forum/epik-theme-support/

            If you don’t have your homepage setup properly for this theme, you can take a look here – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/

            The above info should be in your Read Me file of the theme if you ever need to locate this in the future.

                    Hi Eric, sorry for the lack of information on my post, it was late and my brain was messed up 🙂

                    But your reply actually helped me, and solved my problem.

                    This is what happened: I’m using a Page with with the Blog Template assigned, and changing the number of posts in the Genesis Theme Preferences did not change the number of posts.
                    Then I revised everything again to give you all information saw in Settings – Reading Settings (The General WP Settings) the same number of entries that appears on my front page. I changed them and problem solved.

                    Thanks,

                      Your homepage? What are you using to display these posts? Are you using a widget or did you use the blog template as the main page. Do you have a link?

                        Hi,

                        It seems I can’t change the number of posts that appears on my homepage.
                        I have tried to change the number in Genesis Theme Settings – Blog Page Template, but this does nothing…

                        Any idea?

                            Hi, with my blog post page it is currently showing the entire post. I would like it to show just a little first part and then with a ‘Read More’ link.

                            I have tried under Settings-Reading-For each article in the feed show-Summary

                            How can I get my blog page to show just introduction text, so that the entire post does not show at once.

                            My blog page is this: http://loissoderlind.se/nyheter/

                            Thanks so much.

                                It depends on what all you need to do. If you just want a regular page or the blog page on the front page, then you could set this in your Settings > Reading link and add the page you want as the homepage.

                                If you want the homepage to be the blog, then just create the blog page first, and then set it as the homepage. There are other ways you could prevent the portfolio layout from showing, but this should be the easiest way. If this doesn’t work, or if you’re looking to do something else let me know.

                                    Do you have a link to your site?

                                    You can try excluding your portfolio categories from showing on the main blog in your Genesis Theme Settings page……not sure if that will do it, but it’s worth a try.

                                      First take a look here – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/ to make sure your homepage is setup properly.

                                      Then take a look at the sticky posts at the top of the Epik forum located here – https://appfinite.com/forum/epik-theme-support/ I’ve added the exact code that I’ve used in the demo. You don’t have to use that exact code to get the page setup, all you have to do is add widgets in the home widget areas and they’ll show up.

                                        I have a couple tutorials on what all you can do with the portfolio template here – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/

                                        The answer is pretty much yes to all of your questions except 4 and 5. I try to follow WordPress best practices when coding, and it’s best to separate Portfolios from the theme and place them in their own plugin. What we have now is pretty basic, since that’s what was intended. It’s pretty much just a Blog that is setup in a portfolio style format, which shows Featured Images (the image thumbnails you see). If you’re looking for more options, I always recommend to search for a better Portfolio plugin that is designed to do all of the things you need, because this template is pretty basic….it’s just something to get you started.

                                          Hi guys
                                          the header I have gets cropped when I open a blog post to read- fine when the site is full width. I have uploaded Genesis responsive header plug in but it doesn’t seem to work.
                                          I am not sure how to edit code (where to find it) so am a novice in that regard.

                                            Hello,

                                            I’m setting up my new site using the Epik theme and my portfolio page looks nothing like the demo site’s portfolio page at this link: http://my.studiopress.com/themes/epik/#demo-full

                                            The CSS is definitely not the same… the page is really plain and the featured image is not lined up with the title or content below it etc. none of the CSS shadow styling is there and so on.

                                            The site is offline being developed so I can’t show everyone but if it is something you’d like to check yourself please feel free to let me know I can provide login info privately.

                                            I’ve recently removed the blog content from under the title by commenting out the appropriate code in the page_portfolio.php page but even before that my page does not have any of the styling the demo site has. Should this not be an “out of the box” ready to go kind of situation?

                                            Thanks very much.

                                                  If so, that should work by default unless you have code somewhere or a plugin that deactivates or modifies it in some way.

                                                    Cute? Not so much if you try to read it in an iPhone. The logo appears cut. I don’t know what do I have to change. I have tried to use the responsive header plugin but I think that my image should be small enough to be viewed in an iPhone. It is 360px wide.

                                                          I’ve tried several different ways to reposition the post title and post info after the featured image in the Blog page and the category archives, and so far, I’m only batting .500

                                                          I’ve been able to move the post title so that the image is to the left, and the title is above the excerpt, but nothing I’ve tried seems to make the post info (date and comments link) move between the post title and the excerpt. It really really wants to stay above the image or below the content, on a full line all by itself.

                                                          I tweaked the CSS once, but that didn’t seem to affect it… am I missing something?

                                                                        The front main home is in a broken looking masonry style. I can only get something vaguely as you have it when I create a page for the front with blog template, but even then no sidebar with logo and menu as you have it in the sidebar.

                                                                        Any helps appreciated!

                                                                          I am using the featured post widget on my blog http://elenabenitoruiz.es/blog so far so good, you can 3 featured posts…but when you click on any post, then the same widget shows images misaligned.

                                                                          See difference: http://f.cl.ly/items/0E3N0R3c130h3S2d2g2z/PIC.jpg

                                                                            Removing left alignment from featured images in Genesis.

                                                                            And then I found this post by one of the contributing developers of Genesis [http://www.billerickson.net/genesis-featured-image-alignment/] so I thought I’d (he’d) cracked it.

                                                                            But apparently not. The body copy still keeps creeping up the side of the image.

                                                                              Hi jennifer – ok, here’s the code I used. I put this in functions.php b/c I wanted these changes to be site wide:

                                                                              //* Reposition the primary navigation menu

                                                                              remove_action( ‘genesis_after_header’, ‘genesis_do_nav’ );
                                                                              add_action (‘genesis_before_header’, ‘genesis_do_nav’ );

                                                                              //* Reposition the secondary navigation menu
                                                                              remove_action( ‘genesis_before_header’, ‘genesis_do_subnav’ );
                                                                              add_action( ‘genesis_after_header’, ‘genesis_do_subnav’ );

                                                                              I think in my case the subnav actually appeared ‘above’ the main nav, so I had to do some re-thinking to make the terms ‘nav’ and ‘subnav’ make sense with what I did in the menus section of WordPress. (I think it might be backwards in Epik, not sure.)

                                                                              In the add_action section, you can replace ‘genesis_(before/after)_header’ with whatever hook you like, and you can look inside Genesis documentation for details on all the different ‘hook locales’ that appear on your theme. There’s even a plugin called ‘Genesis Visual Hook Guide’ to help out. Careful with the hook guide, tho’, b/c it doesn’t give you a fully-resolved class or id. You’ll have to dig deeper with firebug to get all the goodness. Don’t rely on the Hook Guide alone when you edit your CSS.

                                                                              As you already know (this is more for those who are new-ish), it doesn’t matter where you put these instructions; you can stick them anywhere within functions.php, as long as you don’t stick them in the middle of some other code (of course).

                                                                              What I do is just start a ‘Don’s customizations’ section at the bottom of the functions.php file, where I literally type:

                                                                              //* CUSTOMIZATIONS START HERE

                                                                              And then I add whatever elements I want; that way it’s easier to see what changes I made, they are all in the same place, blah blah.

                                                                              Lemme know if that works for you!

The widgets should be able to sync with the new theme since they should be labeled the exact same. If not, you could still just move them from the “inactive” widget area and add them back into their places.

                                                                                      Customer

                                                                                        Yeah the thing about that is they aren’t really “portfolio” posts. They are really just blog posts. The portfolio page template is completely separate, and displays all of your “blog” posts in a portfolio format. So if you want to remove what you’re asking, you would be removing it from your blog posts…which would affect all of your blog posts.

                                                                                        Portfolio posts don’t actually exist, since they are really just blog posts presented in a portfolio format. Does that make sense?

                                                                                        You may or may not want to remove them from your blog posts all together, but if you were curious how that is done, StudioPress has some tutorials and code snippets on their site that explain how to do it. Here is one of the links – http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-info/

                                                                                        If you need to keep them separate, I would use a portfolio plugin of some sort that has all of the features that you need. The portfolio that comes with this theme wasn’t really meant to be complex or anything. I’ve seen that Wes recommends using a plugin if you need more features.

                                                                                            I’m confused, because 1, 2 and 3 (from your comment) doesn’t show up on portfolio posts….only on blog posts. Do you want to remove it from your BLOG posts? Or do you want to remove the portfolio posts from showing up in the blog to keep the portfolo and blog posts completely separate?

                                                                                            Sorry, I have to ask first to make sure I give you the right answer.

                                                                                              Here is an example of what I might want to modify it to.

                                                                                              Thank you,

The clear both added to any paragraph tag inside your content will show up “cleared” on its own separate line….rather than float next to small images like it was before.

                                                                                                      After some searching I found this solution:
                                                                                                      http://www.adtrak.co.uk/blog/font-face-chrome-rendering/

                                                                                                      Unfortunately I’m not sure how to implement it with Epik since

                                                                                                      //* Enqueue Lato Google font
                                                                                                      add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'genesis_sample_google_fonts' );
                                                                                                      function genesis_sample_google_fonts() {
                                                                                                      	wp_enqueue_style( 'google-font', '//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:300,400,700', array(), PARENT_THEME_VERSION );
                                                                                                      }<!--formatted--><!--formatted-->

                                                                                                      is a bit strange to me.

                                                                                                      I made it look a bit better though by adding

                                                                                                      -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased !important;
                                                                                                      	-webkit-text-stroke: 0.2pt !important;

                                                                                                      to the css file. It still doesn’t look right unfortunately but it does make it more readable.

                                                                                                      Does anyone know how to implement the svg fix to the font-face?
